Front-line warriors in 2020 – Helping in survival of humanity

During this tough time of Covid – 19, when everyone is being forced to stay at home. Still, there are several persons / services who are at the field in order to ensure the wellbeing of us. These services are being called as the front-line warriors of this covid 19 situation. So, the question is that who are these front-line warriors? What makes them as front-line warriors? How they are servicing as front-line warriors? Therefore, the topic of the article is to “Realizing the importance of front-line warriors…………”.

Who are front line warriors?

Now, when every business has been shut down in order to be safe from this pandemic situation. You might have noticed that, there are several professions, which are running even in this situation as well. These professions are the part of essential services. These services are banking services, security services, medical & healthcare services, media services, dairy & food items services, telecom services, electricity services etc. So, now I think you got the answer to the very first and simple question that is “who are these front-line warriors?”.

Now, important thing is what makes them and how they are servicing as front-line warriors. So, when everyone is staying home to be safe from this pandemic. These professionals are offering their services to the needy one’s in several ways. Now, in what ways they are offering their services, let’s have a look.

Realizing the importance of front-line warriors…………

Banking Services

Banks and other financial institutions are offering their regular services like deposit, withdrawal, loans, insurance, card related services etc.  However, they are also advising their customers to take these services through their internet banking portal. Even, in the current situation, they are offering loans on a very less documentation. They are also offering flexibility in some of the services like EMI payments and others with the decision of RBI. Now, if you require the exact details over these, you need to go through the guidelines and concerned bank.

They are also helping in government initiatives such as distribution of ration, sanitizers and other essentials to the needy one’s.

Security Services, Telecom Services and Electricity Services

Security services are offering their regular services in order to maintain law and order in the society. On the other hand, telecom services are offering their regular services in order to maintain the uninterrupted network supply for better connectivity. While, electricity services are also offering their services in order to maintain the uninterrupted power supply.

Medical & healthcare Services

I hope, everyone is already aware about the critical role of medical and healthcare services in curing the covid 19 patients. If I would call them the primary front-line warriors then it would be no wrong as they are servicing the community to prevent the impact of covid 19.

Patients are also being given care by medical staff in isolation wards instead of all the odds. We have also come across such news that they are even making extra efforts for the wellbeing of the patients. Even in this stressful and critical situation, they are doing all this at their best level and the cost of their lives.

Media Services

Media is also active as front-line warrior in offering the awareness about covid 19 through their print and digital platforms. They are awaring the public through the information related to the covid 19 such as issues, awareness, government guidelines, latest happenings etc.

Dairy and Food Items Services

These services can also be treated as primary front-line services. The reason is simple, you all know the fact that “Hunger is the cause of all goodness and evils as well”.

The persons associated with these services are trying their best to provide you with daily essentials even in this critical situation.

Conclusion

There are still various services like transport, postal services, sweepers & cleaners and many others, about whom I have not mentioned separately, but they are also the front-line warriors. Now the question is that are these services the only front-line services? Will they be treated as front-line services during all circumstances? In my opinion, giving answer as straightforward yes or no is not the good way. Let us go through some insights and let one decide by them itself.

For learning community, when the institutions got closed in their usual way. The biggest challenge was that academics should not suffer. Therefore, everyone from the academic fraternity has made the efforts for the digital way of learning. However, for most of the academic community, this was not so usual or familiar way. Still, they took it as a way to be prepare for the new normal.

For migrant workers, when there was no way to go to their local place and the worries were endless. In such cases, front-line warriors are those, who helped them in going to their native place or provided them the daily necessities for immediate relief. These warriors are the government administration, social workers and NGO etc.

Finishing lines

These are some of the cases, through which you can understand, there is nothing like fixed definitions for front-line warriors. Only thing is the that, the circumstances and their consequences are the key factors in deciding the front-line warriors. In my opinion, the key point is that every one, who is contributing a bit in the flourishment of the community, is a front-line warrior.
