The Meaning of Life
I saw a child playing with a balloon
Ecstatic in his own company
It was a bright summer afternoon
When I had this epiphany
This child inspired me
It was then I realized
This is the way to live life, you see
I sat and slowly analyzed
His focus was on the balloon
He cared not of the surrounding
And as it fell too soon
To his delight, it appeared rebounding
Similar to the challenges of life,
One has to just focus on the present
Not on inner turmoil, not on strife
In the existing one, one has to be content
The depression of the past, the anxiety of tomorrow
Does all this bother a child?
He continues to play with utmost attention
With the balloon in his hand
And when it falls, he has no apprehension
It will rise back; he does understand
My dear, so is this being
Life needs concentration
On the now; I hope we are agreeing
This is the key to salvation
