A Survivor
A single second can shatter your future,
Turn your life into a living nightmare,
You fear what’s next- life or death,
The clock is ticking with every breath,
Finding chances lower every stage,
Trying to break from this torturous cage,
Staring into the mirror and finding a skeleton,
A muddled head, a life forgotten,
Sobbing and crying, remembering golden times,
This pain has scarred you for a lifetime,
Have you already lost this depressing war?
You want to be free- it isn’t worth living anymore.
But then, you look at your loved ones,
Love empowers you to make the tables turn,
Hope fights the obstacles destiny brings,
Giving you the courage to fight troubling things,
A thing silently splitting your heart into two,
Slowly, mercilessly destroying you,
Each day you fight with a stronger spirit,
Nothing is impossible when you are in it!
The will to joy showed that you are stronger,
And won to become a fearless survivor.
My name is Indrani Deo. I am 13 years old and I love composing wondrous poems that can allow your mind to delve into the deepest depths of writing! I am also the poetess of my first book, ‘Treasure Trove’, an anthology of 50 vast, english poems. My writing is also regularly published in various national and international magazines, monthly and yearly. Besides writing, I also love astronomy, arts, photography and many other creative works.
