I am not my crutches
I may walk a little slower,
But my dreams run fast and far.
You see a girl in silence,
I see a rising star.
My hands may tremble gently,
Yet they write a world of grace.
Behind this quiet posture,
Lives fire no one can replace.
They stare, they laugh, they wonder,
“How can she ever fly?”
But wings aren’t always feathers –
Sometimes, they’re will and sky.
I’ve stumbled in the shadows,
I’ve cried when none could see.
But every fall just carved a path,
To the unshakable me.
I don’t need your pity,
Or medals made of gold.
My strength is in the moments
When I refuse to fold.
My chair is not my limit,
My scars aren’t meant to hide.
They’re proof of every battle,
Where I stood firm with pride.
So let them draw their circles,
Where I don’t fit their mold.
I’ll paint a different picture –
A story fierce and bold.
I dream not just of walking,
But of dancing through the rain,
Of singing loud in silence,
Of blooming through the pain.
I am more than what they see –
More fire, more fight, more light.
I am not my crutches,
I am courage burning bright.

I am a passionate and determined girl who believes that disability is not a weakness, but a different kind of strength. Despite facing challenges as a handicapped individual, I continue to chase my dreams through writing, teaching, and self-expression. I wish to inspire others to rise above limitations and believe in their inner power.
