The Storm You Left

The Storm You Left

You are a verse in the winds,
A dream of a gentle wave.
I can’t be you, but memories,
The only thing that I can save.
A thunder still roars inside me,
Maybe it’s the touch of you.
How alive then I was,
What magic did you do?
You passed like a breeze through silence,
Left colours in skies once grey.
I speak to the stars each evening,
But they never know what to say,
In shadows I trace your laughter,
In daylight I feel your name.
You’re gone, yet you still surround me
Unseen, but never the same.
So I carry your quiet echoes,
In place the world can’t see.
You are the pause in my stillness,
The storm that still lives in me.
You were a magician,
The bright light I once claimed.
You left me in the quiet,
But still – your shadow remains
